Year 10 Hand Stitching

I am absolutely wowed by the effort demonstrated lesson after lesson by two of my current Year 10 students. I have a wonderful class of incredibly talented students who are developing their skills and confidence in this subject at a rapid rate. I will post lots of their work but the two pieces that really shone for me this week were:

Isabelle Bailey's Hand stitching shell page. I adore the colours, page composition and stitching detail.

Ria Duncan's Exquisitely hand stitched shells. Ria's detail and array of hand stitches have been done outstandingly.

Well done girls. Excellent effort, quality of work and dedication. I am very pleased with you both. Keep up the good work.

Catering G.C.S.E

The standard and quality of work for this years Hospitality and Catering course has been exceptional. Here are two examples from the practical part of the exam. All elements were made from scratch including the sponge that went into the tiramisu. The accompanying paper work was both detailed and well structured. Well done Class of 2017.

Elizabeth Pawle Inspired Embroidery Pieces

Elizabeth Pawle is my favourite artist at the moment. Her work is so beautiful, detailed and harmoniously coloured. She creates beautiful embroidered textiles, weavings and wall hangings using simple running stitches and french knots. I have been creating embroidery pieces based on her work this half term in order to inspire my year 10 students. What do you think?

Year 9 Art Homework

What's in the Box?

I am very excited about an upcoming school trip I am taking a group of students on this week. 4 students who are talented cooks are joining a host of other schools at Salford City College to complete in the 'what's in the box' challenge. The students will relieve a box of ingredients and make a meal to win a prize. I shall post some photos at weekend.
