Catering G.C.S.E

The standard and quality of work for this years Hospitality and Catering course has been exceptional. Here are two examples from the practical part of the exam. All elements were made from scratch including the sponge that went into the tiramisu. The accompanying paper work was both detailed and well structured. Well done Class of 2017.

Our hive of positivity

On Friday every student at our school dedicated two hours of their day to designing and making a bee to be displayed in our foyer. Here was the result. 600 beautifully coloured, designed and detailed Bees. A stunning display. Well done everyone.

Year 10 Textiles G.C.S.E

The girls have worked incredibly hard to create their final pieces based on their 'Textured Surfaces' coursework. Here you can see excellent examples of:

Tie dye
Embellishments

Well done girls. Very proud of you. Let's smash year 11!

Applique and Embellishment

Here are some examples of applique that I have been working on as sample pieces. I like the curved shapes and embellishments as they highlight the different fabrics and texture of the pieces.

Year 9 Sugar Skulls

Here are three examples of excellent 'final designs' from the final rotation of this academic year. Again we see fantastic designs, excellent use of colour and tonal shading and of course good annotation. Well done girls.

Elizabeth Pawle Inspired Embroidery Pieces

Elizabeth Pawle is my favourite artist at the moment. Her work is so beautiful, detailed and harmoniously coloured. She creates beautiful embroidered textiles, weavings and wall hangings using simple running stitches and french knots. I have been creating embroidery pieces based on her work this half term in order to inspire my year 10 students. What do you think?

Year 7 Jon Burgerman inspired Masks

In year 7 we have been looking at the fantastic doodle work from Artist Jon Burgerman. The year 7 students have created their own masks based on their own doodle ideas/research. Here are a few examples. Students used cardboard, mixed media, paint, 3D card board layers and tissue paper. Fantastic work girls. Keep working well.
